Treatment Philosophy

My philosophy is to evaluate a child around 7 or 8 to find the "train wrecks" out there.  Does that mean that I'm looking to place braces on 2nd graders?  No, quite the opposite.  A few crooked teeth at 8 is quite normal.  I don't see a reason to straighten them then if that's the only issue.  I can straighten them just as easy when they get all of their adult teeth around 12.  There are some things that need to be corrected early to prevent big time problems later down the road.

Fun Family Orthodontics

When I was thinking of ideas for my office theme, I didn’t want Mickey Mouse or plain, white walls. How could I bring a bit of my personality into the office in a way that could relate to kids and adults? Music!! And the rock ‘n’ roll orthodontic clinic was born!

An Orthodontics office unlike any you’ve seen

When you step in our office, it will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.  Here are a few highlights of what you will find in our Houston orthodontic clinic:

• Years of collecting incredible rock memorabilia that all generations can relate to are on display to “remember when” and for the kids to realize parents were young once, too.
• In the treatment area, songs from Led Zeppelin to Guns ‘N’ Roses play, no boring elevator music here.
• In our waiting room, parents can watch the news on one TV or a vintage concert on another TV.
• I figured moms and dads could use a cup of joe early in the morning so we have a gourmet coffee bar as well.
• How about games? You won’t find any xBox or iPads here. I went old school. We have 3 vintage ’80s arcade games that have been insanely popular. Ms. Pacman, anyone?! (This is where the parents can finally dominate their kids in technology, for once.)

We use Damon braces, Invisalign and Invisalign Teen clear aligners.

About Dr Jennings

I have been in private practice as a board certified orthodontic specialist since 2004. I attended Ole Miss for undergrad. I then attended the University of Tennessee for dental school and residency, but please don’t call me a UT Vol!!  At 30, having finished training and being broke more than the 10 Commandments (mainly from buying diapers), my family moved to Houston for my first job.

I love living in Texas, and raising my family in the Memorial area. I am originally from Memphis, and met my wife, Kristin, while at Ole Miss. She grew up down the street from my first west Houston office in Nottingham Forest.  We have three kiddos:  Grayson, Caroline, and Kaitlin. We also four dogs named Sadie, Rudy, Kramer, and Newman.  Don’t get me started on the dog thing!  Like most of you we run around like a chicken with our head off doing kids’ activities.

I also love watching my Ole Miss Rebels during football season, and I am really into music.  When I’m away from the practice, I enjoy building guitars and have been playing guitar for 25+ years. So if you drive by my house on the weekends and see a guy with a breathing mask spraying lacquer on guitars, that’s me!
